For the on site execution, we were given options on which date we want to go. It was either on the 1st June or 15th June. I went on the 15th June 2019 which is on Saturday. Time were from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm.
For this phase we my group had to do the painting for the walls and mural. While other teams were doing the windows & doors fixing and also the exterior works.
The first thing we did when we arrived there was to cover the floors for the painting work and we started by coating the walls in light green paint.
Preparing the coating
We coated the four walls with light green and let them dry for about an hour. After that the drawing members starts to sketch the design for the mural. The design that we have choose was the cactus design.
The mural painting
Then, we started to paint the mural. We took about 5 hours to finish the painting since we had to do the murals on 2 walls. Plus we have to do the finishing for the coating on the upper part of the walls since there were only two ladder available.
The mural painting were done at 7 pm. By then the furniture and learning aid groups were arranging their works. The windows & doors group were almost done by then just need little touch up more.
Overall, this community services were a great experience for me and the members. We are satisfied with our works although we were rushing at the end to finish up the mural but it all went well. I hope that the kids in Kampung Orang Asli are happy with what we did and hoping that it will benefit them.
